The Jim and Mary Winston Family Foundation carries forward the values and spirit of Jim and Mary Winston and their longstanding commitment to Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
Jim was an investor, real estate developer, and businessman who, alongside his wife Mary, believed deeply in giving back to the community they called home. Over many decades, they invested their time, resources and support in people and organizations working to strengthen Jacksonville and help future generations flourish.
That tradition of giving continues today.
Carrying the legacy forward.
Evolving from the Winston Family Foundation, the Jim and Mary Winston Family Foundation begins a new chapter as they welcome the next generation into the family’s longstanding tradition of philanthropy and community investment.
Over the coming year, trustees will spend time together considering the kind of impact they hope to make while continuing to honor Jim and Mary Winston’s values. As those philanthropic priorities take shape, the Foundation expects to share more about its future approach to grantmaking by the end of 2027.
During this planning period, the Foundation is not accepting unsolicited grant proposals or funding requests. However, organizations are welcome to share a brief introduction or overview of their work to Executive Director Tom Caron at tom@jmwffoundation.org.
